How to Care for PLATINAIRE® Jewelry
With proper care, your PLATINAIRE fine jewelry will always look as beautiful as the day you received it. Here are a few simple steps you can take to ensure your PLATINAIRE jewelry will always look its finest.
GENERAL CARE
Treat your PLATINAIRE jewelry like the treasure it is, and consider removing it when you’re gardening, exercising, cleaning or any other activity in which your jewelry might be damaged. You may want to consider removing it when you sleep at night as well.
STORAGE
Like all fine jewelry, PLATINAIRE jewelry should be carefully stored when not wearing it. It’s best to store it in a cool, dry place away from direct natural sunlight. A padded or lined jewelry box or pouch is an excellent place. You can even use a zip-lock bag if needed. Be sure to store each piece of jewelry separately to avoid scratching.
CLEANING
There are several ways to keep your PLATINAIRE jewelry looking bright, shiny and clean. First, try a gentle rub with a soft polishing cloth to restore the brightness of your PLATINAIRE jewelry. If needed use warm water and a mild, phosphate-free soap and a soft toothbrush to remove any dirt that may build up. It’s a good idea to clean your jewelry on a counter or table away from a sink, as you don’t want to risk anything falling into a drain. Also be careful when washing your hands while wearing your jewelry. Once clean, try not to touch your diamonds or gemstones with your fingers as they may pick up the natural oils in your skin. Instead, pick up your jewelry by the edges. Likewise, it’s a good idea to remove any rings or bracelets if you’re applying hand cream or lotion.
